Exhibitionist
Earl Stendahl—Art Dealer as Impresario

by April Dammann

Earl L. Stendahl came to Los Angeles in 1909 with the zeal of a showman and an extraordinary eye, and went on to create one of the most influential art galleries in the world. Never-published vintage photographs from the Stendahl family archive illustrate this colorful biography of the man who introduced modern art to Los Angeles and put Pre-Columbian art on the map.

April Dammann is a Hollywood native who established a writing career for television, film and theater. Exhibitionist is her first book. She is married to art dealer Ronald Dammann, the grandson of Earl Stendahl.
